Replying to Email Threads with Lightfield

Currently, Lightfield does not support replying directly within existing email threads. When you use the chat interface to respond to an email, it will create a new email rather than replying in the original thread.

How Email Responses Currently Work

When you ask Lightfield to reply to an email through the chat interface:

  • A new email will be created instead of a reply in the original thread

  • The subject line will include "Re:" which may make it appear as a thread reply, but it's actually a separate email

  • The recipient will see this as a new conversation rather than a continuation of the existing thread

Current Workaround

If you need to maintain thread continuity, you can:

  1. Use Lightfield to draft your email response

  2. Copy the drafted content

  3. Manually paste and send it in your email client (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) as a reply to the original thread

Upcoming Features

Enhanced email functionality is in development, which will include:

  • Native thread reply capability

  • Support for reading email attachments for better context

  • Email signatures

  • Full conversation history visibility when composing replies

This will allow you to reply directly within existing email threads while maintaining proper conversation continuity.
